I have to give credit where credit is due to the members of first responders, volunteers and emergency employees who work very hard to assist persons who need their assistance due to an accident.
Richard Sullivan and his son Daniel Sullivan went hiking on the Appalachian Trial from Stone Mountain Georgia to Mount Kahadin in Maine.
On Wednesday afternoon, Richard who is 65 years of age, fell down on Spaulding Mountain and broke his ankle in Maine.
Daniel contacted 911 to ask for help from the persons qualified to rescue them around 1pm.
Due to the conditions of the mountain where the accident took place were wet, steep and rocky which made the entire team of rescue team members be creative by forming a human chain when they arrived at scene four hours later.
The rescue team members were able to place Richard in a rescue litter basket up a bypass trail and then travel 3.5 miles to Sugarloaf Mountain to an auto where Richard was taken to a local hospital where he will be taken care of the medical staff to recover from his injury around near midnight.
The rescue team took about 11 hours to do their duty to save Richard from a possible terrible ending in a mountain.
I will say it takes a lot of courage to take on a venture like traveling on a trail from Georgia to Maine.

@Deepizzaguy That's more than me. I haven't done any mountain climbing.

@just4him The last time I went mountain climbing in Panama was around 1978.

I agree with you since the only mountain climbing my family and I took was walking on a trail to visit my late grandma in the interior in Panama.

I agree with you since a hiker getting lost in the mountains can be a scary experience.

I agree with you since rescues of this kind are wonderful that both hikers are safe and alive.
