For Me It’s Not About Politics

I’m allergic to about every vaccine in existence, the flu shot can send me into anaphylactic shock, the pneumonia shot as well, so it was not recommended I get the shot at this time. But that being said, I am not politically against the shot, and I appreciate those who can and do get it. For now I simply do what I’ve been doing all along, even before Covid, that’s be careful and do a lot of praying. I will continue to take the necessary precautions though, when around others.

So many people, even here at MyLot, attack others over their choice of what's best for them. I've noticed several here that claim it's Politically based and it's selfish or stupid to be hesitant to take a relatively untested vaccine. I understand any reluctance to take this vaccine. Like you, many people are concerned about a reaction or long term side effects. I say it's a choice best left up to each person.

@Michellekidwell I can't blame you. People can be cruel sometimes and like to attack anyone that doesn't fall right in line with their ideology or views. Social Media has created monsters.

Thank you, it’s happened here and in real life, but I really do not want to go into anaphylactic shock…

That's all you can do. Vaccines, like masks, aren't for everyone.

I agree, but I, surprised at the number of ppl who don’t take others who can’t get the shot into consideration, or call them selfish, or lazy.

Everyone claims they want equality in all things. Our country is built on this very concept. However, it's not a realistic one. It's easier to bash someone than it is to understand them. You don't know them, you don't their story. During this whole ordeal, I have never once worn a mask. It's not a risk I was willing to take. I've been called selfish for it, but by trolls on the internet. Not my husband who supports me. You shouldn't be anyone but, yourself. Don't let those judgmental people get to you. It's okay to put your health first. So you can't get vaccinated. That's fine. Those who chose to, are taking a gamble with their lives and it's their choice to do so. You can't guarentee or prove the affectiveness of a vaccine. Because no one is the same. We're all going to respond differently to viruses and illness. In the past year and a half, we've been so focused on COVID, that we forget about the million and one other ways we can get sick and die. It's sad, really. @Michellekidwell

And in this case, you are very wise to not get the Covid vaccine!

Yeah, unfortunately I’ve talked to a few who have actually told me to get it anyway I’m like isn’t the point to keep you out of the hospital or worse? Mostly ppl understand though.

So true, and for some the shot can be dangerous.
