New York City Police officer Roland Kennedy who has experience working as an EMT used his first aid skills to save the life of a man who was stabbed in the chest on a street corner in Harlem New York almost two weeks ago.
Officer Kennedy asked a bystander to go inside a store and get a back of chips and duct tape so he could apply pressure to the wounded area of the stabbing victim to prevent air from entering the wound and causing more bodily harm.
Thanks to the assistance of fellow officer David Galindez to cut the duct tape to cover the bag of chips over the wound, the injured man started to feel better.
An ambulance arrived to take the stabbing victim to a local hospital by using first aid methods to stop the bleeding of the wound.
The stabbing victim is making a recovery. The doctors inside of the hospital are praising Officer Kennedy for his first aid training actions that saved the man who was stabbed from death.
One hour later Officer Galindez caught the alleged suspect around the corner and found the alleged knife used in the stabbing of the victim.
I have noticed that many police officers and firefighters do have first aid training on their resumes which is very helpful in saving lives.

It goes to show police haters that the police officers are needed to save their lives despite a few rotten apples in every force.

@rakski Thank you for your thoughts since a few politicians in my nation have had their autos stolen underneath their noses by crooks which has made them look foolish.

I'm glad the officer was able to help the victim. That's terrible to be stabbed in the chest.

I am also happy that the police officer saved the man's life. It is scary for anyone to be stabbed in the chest by a stranger.

Wow... Very interesting and inspiring one. Really appreciate the way your cops handle day to day activities. Such additional training would definitely come handy for them.
Our cops are neither fit as they should be, nor do they take any initiative of saving the victim. On the contrary they will take time filing the complaint and then taking the victim to the hospital, losing precious time of the victim. Chances of survival would be minimum.
Hope the victim is recovering.
Something which our country cops has to learn.
