This island which is a sight seeing option for tourists is famous because of the prison up there that housed the infamous Al Capone who was a gangster and businessman.
The small strip of water connecting the Island from the main land is supposed to be the coldest that would make any prisoner impossible to swim across.
The steep climb to the prison was difficult - most get breathing problems. But I survived.
His cell is intact. Everything that he used is still there. I was amused to see the enamel mug that he used and many of his other belongings.
Strange that a convict got such importance.
