24 July 2021 updates for Tokyo Olympics : India wins its first Tokyo games medal

In a great news for India, 26 years old Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu won a silver medal for India in the 49 Kgs category. This opens India's medal tally account in these games.
Apart from that while Indian women's hockey team got beaten by Netherlands,
Indian Men's hockey team won by 3-2 in a closely fought match vs New Zealand.
Now, I am checking if I can get some recordings of today's proceedings.

That was a proud moment. I watched her interview with WION today morning
The Indian hockey team got defeated by Australia. Few more disappointments there. But then PV Siddhu and Mary Kom are doing good and I am staying hopeful that they would get a few to improve our medal tally.

Yes the loss against Aussies by such a huge margin is a big shocker. I just hope that the Indian team recovers well.
I am hopeful that Mary Kom would progress a lot further.
