A well respected individual is on Cannabis - thanks to the Pandemic

I am devastated. I got a call from my best friend wanting to call it a day with her marriage as her husband has resorted to Cannabis. They are well placed in society and he has been at home for months without a job - thanks to the pandemic. Idle minds are devil's workshops is a well known saying and it has been proved in this. case.
I tried to help her with whatever way I could but she seems determined.
There must be many more like this - well placed in life but destroyed due to Corona
All what I can do is pray

There are better things to end a marriage over than that, like his constantly throwing his smelly socks under her chair...

When friends and family do not matter to him any more and he depends on this substance for his 'happiness' or whatever thinking that this is a trivial issue is not understood.

@allknowing he may be very depressed in his situation and the weed might make him feel less depressed.

@shaggin But there are other ways he can resort to such as meditation and yoga

@allknowing I don't think it's a great way to cope but if he can afford it and it makes him a little happier and he doesn't get too high I don't think its so bad. I take an antidepressant and lots of people now are using weed for depression among many other medical reasons.

@shaggin Here it is illegal. There are choices and he has made this choice which is sad indeed.

@allknowing oh that's to bad it's illegal there still. It's legal here but only with a medical card from a doctor explaining why the patient needs it. My sister in law used it for glaucoma.

@prinzcy I am in touch with her and hoping the best for her. When they choose the substance over who they love and are loved it is a sad thing
