A local church had their summer Vacation Bible School last week and our small church helped with it. I was asked to teach the adult class on Thursday. We had about 20 adults in the class and I really enjoyed it. The lesson was The Fourth Day. It was about how Mary and Martha in the Bible were disappointed that Jesus had not come in time to heal their brother Lazarus. Lazarus had been dead for three days when Jesus arrived. So, of course the sisters knew he would be dead forever. They didn't know a fourth day was coming. We know from Scripture that Jesus raised Lazarus back to life on that fourth day. We find ourselves in situations in life when we only know what's happening in those three days, (or three years) and we can't see what God has planned for us. The whole point of the lesson was don't quit trusting God. Have faith in Him. Remember, there's always a fourth day, even though it might be forty years. Don't give up.

After my divorce from Bruce, I thought my entire life had been thrown to the dogs. It was useless for me to try, because nothing was left that mattered. I was entrusted as a single mother, to raise two little children? Yikes We struggled as a broken family, for eleven years. God's love was the glue, that bonded us together and we did just fine:) Now, I'm remarried and very happy.

@kobesbuddy That's true. I know God still does miracles and He still heals. Sometimes it's when we get to heaven, though.

@1creekgirl Jesus performed many healings and even brought Lazarus back to life! His beautiful miracles are still available today, for those who trust fully in their Lord and Savior:)

Unless God is our source of help, nothing will be permanently healed.

As humans, we do need encouragement to have trust in God.
