Day 45 Exodus 33:1 And the LORD said unto Moses, “Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I swore unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, ‘Unto thy seed will I give it:’ 2 “And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: 3 “Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiff-necked people: lest I consume thee in the way.” 4 And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments. 5 For the LORD had said unto Moses, “Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiff-necked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore, now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.” 6 And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb. Have you been told you’re on your own in what you want to do? No one will help you because you are stubborn and won’t listen to anyone. God told Moses Israel was stubborn. He would no longer lead them as He promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. When Israel heard what God intended, they changed their ways, stripping off their ornaments and waited for what God would do with them. Sometimes it takes drastic measures for people to see reason. When they realize they won’t get help, when they see they are alone in their struggle, they relent. In stripping themselves of their ornaments, Israel showed God they were ready to listen to Him and follow where He led them. As Christians, many times you’re ready to go ahead of your teachers. You’ve read your Bible, listened to pastors and teachers, and think you can do the same without preparation. It wasn’t for nothing, the apostles called new Christians, little children. Jesus spent three years teaching the disciples about the kingdom of God. They were with Him everywhere He went until they were ready to take on the task, He groomed them for, and still, when He went to the cross, they weren’t ready. It took the resurrection to prove Jesus was who claimed to be. Then they were ready. How long have you been a Christian? Do you think you know everything? I can tell you I’m still learning and will continue to learn until Jesus calls me home. I don’t want to be called stubborn when it comes to doing God’s work. I want to be trainable. Are you trainable? Being a Christian means spending time in God’s presence. It means reading your Bible, not once, but continually. It means spending time in prayer so you know God’s will for your life. There’s always something to learn. God doesn’t spend time with people who don’t spend time with Him. Does God need to take Himself out of your life for you to realize how much you need Him? That’s what He told Moses He would do because of Israel’s stubborn heart. Don’t let Jesus call you stiff-necked. Be trainable. Spend time with God and He will spend time with you. Let’s pray: Father, give me a heart that seeks You. Let me be trainable, ready to learn, and not stubborn, thinking I know everything when I still have much to learn. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. It's difficult because we don't want to give up our rights, not realizing we have so much more when we learn to follow God. Have a blessed day.

A Christian's walk with the Lord is often described as a journey and that is exactly what it is. I have been on a long journey time-wise but I have learned that someone who has only just started on the Way has something to share of his personal walk with the Lord.

Everyone has something to share. We need to be open to receiving what they offer. Have a blessed day.
