Descending back into Identity Crisis

When I got out of high-school, I ... well, I think I tried to 'keep going to high-school' at the university level. And--since I had my parents to 'bail me out' of things--I wasn't forced to grow up like most people are. (And good thing, too; because most people are 'forced to grow up' because they go through 'those things' right along with others who are being forced to grow up as well, but I had no one going along with me (no one I was aware-of, anyway)). When you're in high-school, you have people telling you you can be 'anything you want to be.' I don't think that remains true much past high-school ... it seems like you decide to settle for what you liked studying and/or your favorite hobby, and that charts your path for you. My path didn't develop so clearly. My main hobby was church & the Karaoke-bar & agnostic-theology (leaning toward Nichiren Buddhism ... a Buddhism with the belief that WE'RE ALL Buddhas); my studies ... fell apart because it only took 'a few semesters of Economics' to realize that the University (a 'Private' (i.e. huge cost if you don't win enough scholarships) University) was too big a loss for me. The crisis comes up when I have to tell "my occupation." Oh, I can SAY I'm anything; but the 'crisis' is that I have "questions" on every answer I give ... they give the option of Student (Yes, I am ... but what am I studying? when will I graduate?) Retired (Yes, I am ... but what job did I retire from?) Unemployed (I don't usually choose that one, because it implies that I'm looking for employment) ... Disabled (Yes, I am ... but I think that's another one that makes me feel like there should be 'a job that I was disabled-from') Self-Employed (kinda, but not making enough money to qualify as "employment" ...) So I'll kind of 'wander around' until I find a distraction that deserves my focus, and I can focus on it long enough to forget I have no idea ...

Well I was forced to grow up at the age of 13, but they all failed. I still feel like a child until now. Not a good thing, but well it keeps the wrinkles away!
