I started baking!

July 30, 2021 7:32pm CST
After years of watching baking shows on Youtube, I finally took the courage to buy myself a small oven and learn how to bake. And after weeks of practicing, I must say, baking is not only enjoyable but therapeutic as well. I started with simple recipes from Youtube, such as chocolate chip cookies and banana bread. I failed a couple of times (mostly getting some burnt bits and pieces) before realizing that I got the wrong settings! Instead of the correct "Bake" function, I have my oven set in "Toast." That is quite embarrassing, but after figuring out my honest mistake, I started seeing some satisfying improvements. My goal for August is to try making sourdough bread. I checked some recipes on Youtube, and it is quite intimidating, with these time-consuming steps and all. And before 2021 ends, I would like to have baked a croissant, which is more complicated. I hope I can pull these projects off lol.

That doesn't look bad. It's the taste that's the most important too.

It still looks good! I’d give it a try. Banana bread with chocolate chips is my favorite

Good for you and congratulations for succeeding. Not everyone who learns from you tube succeeds.
