Day 50 Numbers 10:33 And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days’ journey: and the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them. 34 And the cloud of the LORD was upon them by day, when they went out of the camp. 35 And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, “Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.” 36 And when it rested, he said, “Return, O LORD, unto the many thousands of Israel.” People take all kinds of trips, long, short, far, and near. Much planning goes into their trips. How often do they include God in their trip? Israel was in the wilderness, journeying from Egypt to the Promised Land. They stayed in one place as long as the cloud by day or the fire by night rested on the tabernacle. When God took up the cloud, Moses offered a prayer for God to rise up and scatter their enemies. When God rested, Moses prayed for God to return to them. As Christians, do you pray before each trip? Do you ask for guidance on your journey? Israel didn’t have a road map. God was their guide, their GPS. Do you rely on your maps and GPS to get you where you need to go? Or do you trust God, who is better than any map or GPS? Maps don’t show construction delays, and GPS’s have been known to give wrong directions and take you where you least expect. Next time you’re on a trip, pray and ask God to lead you. Let’s pray: Father, lead me on my journey through life. Whether I take a road trip, or stay home, I need You to guide me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
