Sometimes you realize it's stupid to have an argument with someone who is self centered... because no matter what you say, it will ultimately become about them I remember my grandmom used to say- Arguing with a fool only proves there are two, and someone who isn't ready to understand will eventually not, no matter how much your point is valid" I just wonder why are people so closed minded about other's opinion...???

This is true. We only waste our time and energy when we argue with those people who just do not want to understand our point of view. The best thing is to leave such people alone.

@Aansh13 But what to do it it is an important issue and you need to sort it out? Such as a property issue over which your spouse, sibling or parent argues with you and is unreasonable about it?

@TerribleMan The arguments you can't escape, better to have them without getting agitated, at least to your best limit. That's what I try to do....

What your grandma said is very true . It's better not to argue with a fool, they are always ignorant.

Hi Annshi! You're right. When you're trying your best to have a decent discussion with someone and they take all things personally, it can be so frustrating. You're grandmom is also right. If you feel like there's no point in having the conversation and that it only worsens the situation, then it's time to walk away. It's something like choosing your battles wisely. Some people are not matured enough and some people carry around emotional baggage that affects their perspective including having an open mind about things. That's what I think.
