Covid Woes

August 5, 2021 2:34am CST
Hi guys, this virus is hitting every single part of the world and we are all affected by it some way or another. Losing loved ones, having to stay at home 24/7 for a prolonged period of time, not being able to travel out of the country, are some pains I know. For me being in Singapore, cases are in the double-digits now but dining out is not allowed until further notice and travelling out of our very small country (45mins drive from one end to another) will cost a lot due to the mandatory quarantine. Having a drastic drop in social life has affected me quite a bit mentally. What are some of your Covid woes?

We're just out of lockdown here in England. It's a personal choice now if we want to wear masks in public spaces but some shops have said can you please keep wearing your masks in our shops if you possibly can. It hasn't really affected us that much. We could still go out to the shops for essential items like food, as long as we were wearing masks and social distancing. The only thing that changed for us really was that we couldn't go to Church on a Sunday. And we've missed seeing my brother and sister-in-law and my little nephews as much.

Yeah, I know how it feels. My weekly visit to my grandma's had to be stopped and I can't visit my newborn nephew as much as I want to. We need to travel in pairs only, and each house is only permitted 2 visitors. I'm really hoping cases go down soon and we can be more free.

oh dear, yes we do hear it on the news about how bad it is there. Please take care of yourself and hopefully it will be over. If you haven't gotten your jabs, consider getting them too. It won't stop you from getting it (touch wood), but it will prevent detrimental effects on our body.

We don't need to think about things that make us stressed, here the positivity rate is still above 16%.

Other than needing to be extra careful when going out because I have asthma, I've adapted pretty okay. But from time to time it gets rough when you find out someone you know has the virus. Do you have anything to do that can help you relax from time to time?

ah yes. please be careful~ yeah, well, I found MyLot, and also started learning photoshop via youtube again. I do my part time studies outside of work so quite a bit to keep me busy (not relaxed, haha). Trying to make the best out of having to stay home!~

@rudepotato I actually just got my first dose today, so that's one step taken. Oh, yeah. There's a lot of great Photoshop tutorials on YouTube. For myself, it's Inkscape tutorial videos and crochet. So has your tv/movie viewing skyrocketed, too? Mine definitely has.
