Day 56
Deuteronomy 9:24 Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.
25 Thus I fell down before the LORD forty days and forty nights, as I fell down at the first; because the LORD had said he would destroy you.
26 I prayed therefore unto the LORD, and said, “O Lord GOD, destroy not thy people and thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed through thy greatness, which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
27 “Remember thy servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; look not unto the stubbornness of this people, nor to their wickedness, nor to their sin:
28 Lest the land whence thou brought us out say, ‘Because the LORD was not able to bring them into the land which he promised them, and because he hated them, he hath brought them out to slay them in the wilderness.’
29 “Yet they are thy people and thine inheritance, which thou brought out by thy mighty power and by thy stretched-out arm.”
People rebel against authority all the time. They believe they alone have the answers to their problems. People try to reason with them and persuade them to see the error of their ways.
Moses stood in the gap between God and Israel every time they rebelled against God. He reminded God about His promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to bring His people into the Promised Land.
As Christians, you know people who need prayer because of their rebellious nature. You know those, who without intervention, wouldn’t hear the truth about God’s love for them. God called you to stand in the gap for stubborn, rebellious people who, without intervention, wouldn’t see eternal life with Jesus in heaven, but would suffer eternal damnation in hell.
Are you willing to stand in the gap? Do you already stand in the gap? God calls you to pray so the hearts of those You love will soften and hear the message of hope found only in Jesus Christ.
Let’s pray: Father, show me those rebels who need a gap-stander. Your Word says You aren’t willing for anyone to perish. Help me bring a lost soul to You so they will know the truth and the truth will set them free. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I have not been a gap Stander willingly or knowingly. But yes, there have been situations where I have ended up being one. It was not effective all the time.

@just4him It's okay. I did what I could do on my part and felt that it was the right thing to do.

Yes, he did. He was always standing in the gap for them. Have a blessed day.
