Day 58
Joshua 1:1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spoke unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,
2 “Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
3 “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.
4 “From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.
5 “There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6 “Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I swore unto their fathers to give them.
7 “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou may observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou may prosper whithersoever thou go.
8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
9 “Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou go.
We rarely think of prayer as instruction. Yet when God spoke to His people, He instructed them to give them hope in the task He gave them.
Moses was dead. Before he died, God told Moses to secure Joshua as his successor by laying hands on him and imparting wisdom from God to lead the children of Israel into the Promised Land and do everything God promised He would do in giving them the land and dividing it for their inheritance.
As Christians, you need the same courage and strength to do what God gave you. His promise to Moses and Joshua to give Israel every place they set their foot is your promise. As He promised to defeat Israel’s enemies, He will defeat your enemies and did so on the cross when Jesus defeated Satan.
Have you been in your prayer closet long enough to hear God’s instructions? Do you know the task He has for you? Remember, prayer isn’t one-sided. It isn’t you making your request to God and then getting on with your day. It’s you listening for the still small voice, hearing what God says to you, and then doing what God told you.
God told Joshua he would lead the children of Israel into the Promised Land. However, God told him he wouldn’t go alone. God would lead His people and go before them. He would never leave them or forsake them.
God’s promise is the same today. When He tells you to do something, He will go ahead of you to prepare the way for you to complete your task. You are not to rely on your strength, but His in everything He tells you.
Let’s pray: Father, help me stay in my prayer closet long enough to receive Your instructions. Let me remember, I’m not in this alone. You are with me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I can not tell what he wants me to do. I just hope he will some day show me what's best. I really need help right now as so many do.

I agree, it is sad. But, consider when Jesus went up the Mount of Transfiguration, Moses joined him there. He was in the Promised Land. Have a blessed day.

Yes I do believe that Jesus is the same yesterday and today and even at the end.
