Sheer Silence as CoViD-19 Hits Home.

A long wait it took us, swab test plus blood sample extracted. The blood result was all right, the swab needed some time. My daughter didn't test for an X-ray, it was very hot at the triage. She was feeling bad. I was also uncomfortable at the parking lot of a food chain, the noon day sun chose to shine bright. The long wait for the swab test result came ten hours later. I was already snoring on my bed when my elder daughter woke me up. She was changing sheets and covers and disinfecting our wreck room. Her sister tested positive for the virus. My younger daughter isolated her self at once in our small sala. Wondered though what good would that do. We've been in the car together, watched 'Whipping Boy' together albeit seated two meters apart... A whirlwind of activities ensued this morning after. I was literally displaced from the work table to my bed, On strict orders also to hydrate. And take the vitamins I often forget. Unmitigated quiet right now as the three of us are so near each other and yet so far. Nothing eerie. Just a little strange pondering about the virus finally hitting home.

That is just so sad whenever I hear stories of how this virus destroys the clinginess that we Filipino families have to one another. This virus has separated us from the loved ones we used to be taken for granted because we often see them around us. Now the Virus came and we suddenly feel the need to connect what we used to enjoy in the past and taken for granted.

@eileenleyva Well, at least the shouting helps to know that everyone is ok at the moment. The usual bonding is indeed set aside at the moment to give way for the virus to finally stop in your house.

@rsa101 A vocal exercise. Also meant to create some noise in the neighborhood. It's been so quiet!

My daughter was given a five day break from the CoViD-19 pandemic, a break my little family was excited about because we could watch movies together and update one another with 'kwento' about this and that. My elder daughter already ordered delivery food for the fifth day finale. Ha ha. CoViD struck and ruined our simple family bonding. Ten days of isolation before my daughter reports back on duty. The bonding we have is shouting to one another from time to time. What are we saying? Lines such as 'I am bored,' 'What are you doing?' or 'Whose eating the last egg pie?' You are correct. A pathetic home scenario. But this is just a temporary setback. This will pass. Tomorrow will bring good news.

Yup, my younger daughter, the doctor, operated on a CoViD-19 patient and probably contracted the virus from that procedure. She had a protocol swab test that showed a positive for the virus result. She'd be in mandatory ten day isolation before reporting back to duty. My elder daughter attended to all the necessary cleaning and disinfecting of the home. Probably the reason why she felt feverish also. Both are up and about this morning. Ordering food for our mini celebration of thanksgiving already. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

@RebeccasFarm Humbly I pray for forgiveness, I must have, or my daughters must have neglected something, that our God has to allow this to happen. Difficulties and trials are actually 'shouts from our God' to remind us we've been amiss. Our present situation though is not as grave as what has been in the news. It's like our God just tickled us. Grateful for His everlasting Love. Our Almighty God keep you safe, too. God loves those who care for others.

I hope your daughter gets well soon. And are you and your other daughter waiting for your test results? Hopefully they turn out negative. But I suppose you are under quarantine while awaiting results? How does that work anyway? Do the health/barangay officials visit you and ensure you have the supplies you need?

Thanks very much for that moral support. Yup, my daughter, the doctor, already tested positive for the virus. As we all live in the same home, we must isolate ourselves from one other. Good thing we are all fully vaccinated. In any case, the barangay is just a call away.

@eileenleyva Ah, that's good. At least, since you're all vaccinated, the symptoms will hopefully just be mild if ever you caught it, too. Rest and take care. I guess the bright side is: you can spend lots of time here on mylot.

@moirai The vaccine was a consolation all right. Thankful we were prioritized for the shots early on. Our barangay health workers are reliable. Got another load of laundry done a while ago. Life goes on, I guess. Lunch was a four-piece chicken dumpling (siomai) with rice. Thank you once again.

Thank you. Except for the car ride wherein we couldn't physically distance from each other, we do keep two meters apart in the home. We wear masks all the time and eat at separate tables. My daughter was also very careful at the hospital this long pandemic. Just that the surge spiked and she had to do CS procedures to many patients. The surgeries usually take place 11 pm to 3 am. Her immune system could have dropped. But she's recovering fast. Playing the piano right now.

My elder daughter is feeling a little feverish and she took paracetamol at once. She was doing all the chores such as cooking and cleaning and disinfecting. Sigh. Ordered them both to take the eight hours of night sleep straight - the quickest way to recover. The situation is tolerable. I have my hot ginger brew by the bedside, just to be sure I'd keep the virus away. Thank you for the concern. I appreciate that very much.

That is truly touching. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Been praying for other people who had been ill and are still sick with this dreaded disease that now I just felt how it is to be on the receiving end of being prayed for. Your gesture of kindness is much appreciated. The good Lord bless and keep to also.
