Mistake

The media is responsible for relying information to the public. There was this incident when the media confused the name of an appointed official hence it was someone else. A young man who was all unaware just received congratulations from friends ,relatives on his appointment. He took the initiative of digging into the matter and found his name gazetted among the people selected by the president. Oblivious of the mistake ,he took it to the media and a video of himself thanking the president. Shortly the media realized it was a mistake in the typing of the name . And went on to apologise to the citizens and the guy. So sad ,one can imagine how the guy felt after that. I fail to understand why it happened that way since I know before any information is released by the media, it passes through a lot of synchrony and acertaining if it's true and worth and also there are proofreaders and editors.

That's the problem now.
There isn't the scrutiny and fact checking in Journalism anymore.
They publish unchecked stories.
Proofreaders barely proofread and Editors follow their orders from Owners.
I can't think of one single media outlet that can be called credible anymore.

Yeah, these days, we can't be sure anymore if the informations we get out there, are true.. So it is better not to make a quick reaction.. I remember famous huge mistake when the host of the Miss Universe pageant a few years ago, announced the wrong winner .. That was a huge embarrassment to everyone..

Yes we should be very careful and incase of any information,we need to really dig in before taking a huge step
