The Coin-Flip - Another 'Reason to Believe' that won't convince Atheists

Friendly Atheist Hemant Mehta presents several of the "reasons to believe" he hears from theists trying to get him to believe in 'Hank Williams Jr. in the Sky.' And I want to discuss each reason individually. One (brought up at https://youtu.be/RNfhvw1KE3A?list=PL3tF060u39sG8opT4Xcc-N06Jg6ktpvuN&t=223 this point in the video) is "The Coin-Flip"---essentially, the idea that "There's either a God, or there's not; so that's 2 options, and thus a 50/50 chance I'm right; right?" (And even if a statistician stands up and says, "Umm, actually ..." the Faith-thumper only hears "Amen, brother! Huzzah! Hallelujah!" etc.) Hemant goes into comparing it to someone 'deciding to play the lottery' or 'get married' or any number of things that aren't just 'a coin-toss.' But I'd throw in that "success in life" (or whatever we Christians think we're getting) is more than just 'a coin-toss.' It's several coin-tosses a day (sometimes several-a-minute!), combined with an oath to bow to each coin-toss's result (whether you like it or not). Not only that, but you agree that God can send you to Hell for any reason or -for no reason at all! No matter WHAT 'the coin flip' says!

You're right. I didn't find it a bit convincing.
