Does anyone have any secrets to keeping themselves on a budget and saving money? I'm a really big bargain shopper but my husband is a spender...he's also the one that brings home the bacon though! We make decent money but it seems like we still struggle to pay the bills. I need some good ideas to save money!

I like to think I have savings down to a science. I start by taxing myself. This means that I put a set amount away each payday. Then, if I have a craving to buy something and I control it, I put the money away that I would have spent. This has a double benefit; 1) reduces the money left in my wallet (that I would have spent anyway) 2) Increases my savings It might sound crazy, but tricks like this work and you always have money for the rainy days. My Simple rule: Never spend more than you earn and limit the use of credit cards.

you know what stinks is my husband works for family and we get paid when we get paid. we have a certain amount we make every month and that never changes but when we receive the deposits is totally up to when the money comes in from the customers. it really makes budgeting difficult. one deposit may be 200.00 and the next 1000.00.
