While the homegrown terrorists in Afghanistan is shamelessly destroying the country and the people and the relatively new way of life far from the backward barbaric existence the ruthless movement has sown, the conscientious First Vice President Amrullah Saleh, instead of fleeing like the coward of a president, made his way to Panjshir Valley, a rugged terrain home to Ahmad Massoud, From there he sent message to the world that the valley is the last bastion of Afghanistan. The youthful Ahmad Massoud has a progenity of courage and valor, his father led the resistance against the Russians. Highly educated, Ahmad Massoud who shares his father's bravery, becomes the poster boy, a face that seems to exude a breath of fresh air and brings hope. Like I always say, the millennials are a different breed.
Panjshir is the only province that has remained out of the Taliban's grip, where Ahmad Massoud, the son of former anti-Taliban leader Ahmad Shah Massoud and ...

I certainly hope that he is the one that could save the country from collapsing further. It is sad indeed that they are back from a totalitarian regime again.

Before the United States meddled with Afghanistan twenty years back, Afghanistan was at war with Russia which also lasted twenty years.

@eileenleyva Yeah they are actually tough people since they seem to be always in conflict internally and externally. Now they are internally struggling for power to control the country. But it seems that it is now under Taliban control.

@rsa101 Nope, not yet, for there is a group of patriotic Afghans brave enough to fight for the country especially against the ruthless Taliban. There is the First Vice President acting as the caretaker of the country and he is supported by a King's College educated millennial Ahmad Massoud, son of Afghanistan's tough resistance fighter against the Russians.
