How did you choose your pet ?

I ask because we are thinking of getting a pet. Himself is more of a cat person whereas I am a dog person.
I have mentioned getting a bird but Himself is not keen.
I know that our lifestyle is not perfect but I am really missing that furry addition to our family.
So I just wondered if you have a pet and how did you decide on what to have?

I have 6 dogs and 4 cats and I only chose 2 of them. The rest chose my husband and me. All were unwanted. don't get a pet for what it can do for you. Get one for what you can do for it. Remember that cats and dogs live for up to 15 years. Do you want a pet around for so long? Our dogs were unwanted, thrown out and it was their good fortune that we found them. But it has been at social and financial loss.

I wish I could but my parents don't allow me to have a pet! Moreover I am also not ready for a responsibility!

Pet is a stress reliever, I always play with them if I feel stress, and one thing I love to them is when I woke up early they always approach me and follow me, they are a good companion. we have 3 dogs and 3 cats. dog are also a watch guard, cats keep a mice away. and these things that make us decided to have a pet. and by the way we have also 8 love birds. we are a pet lover.
