Day 74 1 Samuel 15:10 Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying, 11 It repents me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night. Most of us have regrets about things we’ve done. What do you do to restore your self-esteem? Israel asked for a king and God gave them Saul. However, Saul didn’t fully follow God. When Saul sinned against God the first time, Samuel told Saul, God took the kingdom from him and gave it to a man after His own heart. When Saul sinned a second time, God turned from Saul and told Samuel He regretted making Saul king. Samuel prayed all night on behalf of Saul, hoping God would relent and restore Saul. Yet, God did not relent. As Christians, God made a way for you through His Son, Jesus, when you sin against Him. You can confess your sin and God will forgive you because the blood of Jesus covers you. Saul didn’t have Jesus’ blood covering him. He didn’t have a way of escape from God’s wrath. You do. With Jesus, you have a way. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (KJV) You can confess Your sin, and God will hear you and forgive you. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV) If you sinned against God, don’t waste any time in repenting and making your relationship right with God. Let’s pray: Father, You know my heart and my life. No matter how hard I try, I mess up.
