Good morning myLot land! Conditions here Saturday morning are about the same except that it is very windy here this morning and it actually feels nice outside and the sun was peeking through when I first got up. Now it has clouded over and about to rain. I got out and fed the chickens early and got that over with. I felt a raindrop or two but the sun was shining at that time. Not anymore. Hurricane Ida is still offshore and should be hitting land in the next hour. It will come in south of New Orleans, LA. The tornado threats will start popping at any time. I haven't heard from any of my daughters this morning but I'm assuming they are all sleeping late. I know everyone will we awake tonight as this storm moves through the area. It is not expected to make it to my part of Mississippi until tomorrow morning around 11-12 am. Take care everyone and those that are in Ida's path stay safe! Photo Credit: Pixabay, Public Domain

Right, still could throw off some tornadoes though. AL got them good.

@DocAndersen I am amazed at how fast it is drying up here at my house in MS. No standing water at all and we had continual rain for hours on end. It had been very dry here when it hit which was a good thing.

We are in the direct path as it moves north but won't get here until tomorrow. It's going to be a long night.

@RebeccasFarm Lots of damage in the Thibodaux and Houma area. I expect to hear of flooding later tonight. The rains will become non stop in the Baton Rouge area.

@Blondie2222 This hurricane is actually on track heading your way. It will be mostly played out by then though. Good thing!

We had major wind there and probably a few tornado touch downs with the number of trees down just down our road. You could see the path in the woods so more than likely a touchdown or two. That was the worst hurricane I've been through since Camille in the 60's. Not used to hearing wind howling like that or things hitting the house constantly. Luckily we just have a lot of picking up to do in the yard and field.

Thank you Carol. She has made landfall but will be hanging around with very slow movement. Won't pass through my area until tomorrow. There is going to be some very bad flooding going on in LA and MS in the Biloxi area I imagine.
