My Momma’s services were yesterday. We opted for one viewing and the funeral on the same day because our hearts just couldn’t do a two-day event. There were a lot of family and friends there, including one of my best friends who drove in from Philadelphia, PA, as well as a handful of friends who were around more in my teenage years and 20s. My Mom was loved by a lot of people and it shows. Unfortunately, some people took Mom’s passing harder than others, and my heart broke for them. I managed to keep it together, but I did get slightly choked up when I was telling a friend how we tried so hard to help her get better. :( I’m still baffled and a little bitter by that, but that’s another post for another day. After the services, family and close friends met at an Italian restaurant (one of my sister’s soon-to-be brother-in-laws works there) for dinner. We had our own private room for it. Everyone just talked, laughed, ate… what Mom would’ve wanted. Also, we all dressed down and wore t-shirts for the services (i.e., wrestling, horror, sports, etc., stuff Mom loved) -as well as played more upbeat tunes during the slide show- because our Mother just didn’t like depressing things. She was always singing, dancing, laughing, etc., so we did things in true Brenda-style. :) Mom was buried with Dad. She had a plot, plus they were so, so in love. They would’ve been married 50 years this past May. We came home after the restaurant, in which I took a nap with the dogs and then lounged for the rest of the night. Now, we start our “new normal” ONCE AGAIN (the last time being after Daddy passed). I need to get back into some sort of routine, but I’ll do that tomorrow. It’s also a time (at least for me) to start trying to heal, as much as I possibly can, anyway. I’ll always miss my Momma though, and my heart is going to hurt at times. That’s how grief works, and there is no timetable for it. It's going to be a huge adjustment for us because my Mom was ALWAYS here and ALWAYS involved in our lives in some way. I just want to thank everyone for their support and kindness over the last few months (including when my Mom’s health was declining). I really do appreciate it. I know I’m behind on comments and notifications, but it happens. I’m going to make one more post, and then that may be it for the day. Photo Credit: Me and my Mother. This remind me when my dad passed away. So many people show up that I didn't even recognized some of them. He was well known and had lot of friends.

It becomes a blur, doesn't it? But it's good to know our parents were so loved. I hope you're doing okay.

Just be sure to take care of yourself. Time heals all, only if you let it.

I will, thank you so much. I'm going to try to start a work routine again this week, but I'm also going to give myself time to rest. It's definitely not the time to overwhelm myself.

Your parents will always watch you from there. And now your Dad has company of his love there in heaven. May the soul rest in peace. Take care and cherish the good memories you have with her.
