A bus driver with a heart of compassion story

One thing I have noticed about bus drivers that when they do a heroic deed of saving the life of a young stranger, it does not get reported in the news market where the incident happened until much later in the year for some strange reason that I cannot figure out compared to a tragic event.
Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus driver Kelvin White who is a father himself showed compassion for a young girl who must have been 2 to 3 years of age walking by herself with a stroller on the streets of Hampton Virginia on July 17.
Kelvin was shocked to see the girl walking in the street by herself without any adult supervision when he stopped the bus, got off of the bus, used his vest to keep traffic away from the girl when he picked her up and took her inside of his bus after he tried with the help of another man to ask door to door if the girl was missing from their home.
When on one answered his and the other man's question if the missing girl was theirs, he called the local police to come to his bus and try to reunite the girl with her mom.
The mom did answer the call from the police to reunite with her daughter. The good news of this story is that Kelvin was awarded by his employer a pair of Beats headphones recently.
Bus drivers can be compassionate persons as well.

That was a wonderful thing to do. The mother must have been frantic. How did the little girl so young get away from her mother without her knowing?

Most likely the child must have walked away while her mom was distracted for a few seconds.

That is true since many heroes like to keep their good deeds quiet.

This is a beautiful story of a man who did the only right thing to do in this situation, it sounds like Kelvin White put this little girl's safety and well-being above all else- which is how it should be.
It seems that God often sends those with caring and compassionate hearts at a time like that, to do the right thing, I bet you Mr. White would simply say "it was the only thing to do" if asked. he may have very well been instrumental in saving this child's life.
Thank you for sharing this story, we could all use a little more happy news to brighten our days and I wish the media did share more stories like this one.
