"They hated Me without reason."

I got hurt emotionally. I've been trying to heal my self with meditative music and hot honeyed tea.
What happened?
I flagged a classmate for spreading a faulty belief about the faith. Of course, I did it quite objectively: suggested a study and provided reference.
An older classmate had a violent reaction saying we each are entitled to our own interpretation and belief. Another classmate pointed out we live in a diverse world and we cannot force anyone to believe in what we believe.
Of course I apologized for the upset I had caused but, in the first place, I was not the one who started compelling an erroneous idea, I merely tried to redirect to a scholarly manner of understanding. Told them I felt it my Christian duty to let everyone see the truth, as written in the Gospel.
But they continued to malign me, ignoring the subject and resorted to dancing instead.
I was shocked, of course, by the actuations of these handful of loud classmates. Noticed their ill demeanor ever since but thought nothing of it. Only now that I affirmed that "they hated me without reason."
That's a quote by our Lord, from John 15: 25.
I was truly hurt. My only consolation was that my other classmates kept quiet because they know I was speaking the truth. They wouldn't want the handful be put to shame.
Anyways, I did review the Gospel wherein our Lord endured the taunting. For His sake, I must endure also.

Sorry to hear about this.
Hope these classmates of yours see the truth for what it really is.

@eileenleyva with what you have mentioned, you are better off without them.

Come to think of it, these classmates, without being condescending, are probably the insecure ones. They do lack the physical attributes and are the ones who talk too much to pan attention to themselves. They have ganged up on others way back our school days, and those classmates never ever joined our reunions. Sigh!

@allen0187 Am taken aback by that response. Surely that means that the friendship all these long years had been hypocritical.

Actually, I rarely check the group site even if the notifications keep popping on my Ipad. I simply noticed there was a barrage of notifications about a zoom event the purpose of which is to garner funds for a sect. The topic was outrageous!
I did feel it was my Christian duty to flag down my classmate. Actually, that is what I told my classmates, that in this day when the 'right sounds so wrong', it is important the we must speak. Otherwise, according to Cardinal Chito, if we don't call on a wrong, we have no right to utter the profession of faith.
The right rests on the truth as specified in the Gospel.

@rakski Yes, we must speak the truth and actually spread the truth. You are correct. That is in Revelation. We become the watchman!
You are correct again, if they who heard do not heed, it's on them.
We have done our duty as the watchman.

@eileenleyva we have the option always to speak our faith, but of course as we are all different, we cannot expect that people will have the same faith and belief as we have.

Hello ellen,
I agree that it is our duty to share what is written in the Bible.
However , it is also written in the Bible that we cannot please and impose immediately to other people about our faith and belief.
The only way we can do is to pray for them and let God do the rest.
Do not feel bad , you only did the right thing

Thank you.
I was not even trying to persuade them anything, I just called a false claim not even written in the Bible.

@jaiho2009 Thank you. I do my best to be knowledgeable of the Bible because, as Augustine said, 'Ignorance of the scriptures is ignorance of God.'
I couldn't bear any one implying an untruth about the Scriptures.

You know what? You are correct. It is as if they never grew in wisdom and understanding. They acted like school girls bratty and noisy.

I am praying for that. Honest.
Because they are my classmates, I feel responsible for them also.

That should be the case but shallow minds cannot perceive truth when presented to them. An explanation would be futile.
