Do you think hot tea with a meal is healthy?

I read something about this and would like to know if people really know if this is true?

Tea is generally healthy. At least tea without sugar and milk and stuff added to it. Green tea especially is very healthy for you. Eccenacia tea is also very healthy, and it's suggested you drink a cup a day.

I read something about this from Dr. Spock. He said that he always would drink hot tea or water before a meal and nothing cold with it because it relaxes the muscles of the throat and helps digestion.
