yes you are right.fair skined people usually with blue eyes get skin cancer but any person no matter if not fair skined or blue eyes can get skin cancer thousands of people each year get skin cancer i had it two years ago on my face and stomach. the process of removing it can be very painful. when all we need to do is use sun protection.

Thank you for posting your support group link. I will be checking into it. I'm very worried about this right now. And I'm dark haired and not quite fair skinned, though I am blue eyed. It can affect anyone.

yes i do know i to had melanomia on my stomach i had it removed 11 months ago . skin cancer is no matter to take lightly . and i am sorry to say but i feel that most people don't take this deadly cancer very serious. but i have learned the hard way that we must take it as serious as any form of cancer.

maybe so but I work with the Melanoma Support & Education Foundation and the National Council for Skin Cancer Prevention. Many people of color end up with this....without any other people in the family having it.
