'Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky.'

A fellow mylotter challenged me to write verses about a tree. I took the challenge to heart and glanced upon the trees while coursing the thoroughfares.
Nada. No poetic insight. Always ended up saying 'Hi, tree!' with a quick 'Good-bye!'
Till I opened up facebook because I was reminiscing memories of my Mommy. She passed away 12 September six years ago, a few minutes after the clock struck midnight. I actually whispered to her not to die 11 September because there could be many souls floating and she could get lost on her way to heaven.
I was still chuckling at the impish thought when lo and behold the picture popped on my monitor. It was a snapshot by my student, Bambi Martinez, as she and fellow hikers explored the mountains of Barras, Rizal.
The caption was the title of this post. Sigh.
Am a wannabe poet but only those who experience that significant moment can write verses....
Asked Bambi's permission to use her photo. I yet have to advise her I used also her verse.
Addendum:
Looking at the picture, I felt my Mommy smiling down upon me, telling me she has reached heaven.

Yup, as I am amazed by poets who could feel the moment and express that significant moment into words. Like the shepherd boy David who, while pasturing his flock felt a scary moment and said:
'If I should ever walk in the valley of darkness,
No evil would I fear;
You are there to show the way
If I should ever walk in the valley of darkness,
Your crook and your staff,
They will lead me to the day.'

@eileenleyva Maybe I compose like that kind of but it would take me some time to think about that. Some people are just too good at stitching words that create a very good poem.

@rsa101 Yes, the words come easy as they perceive the moment. Wish I could stitch the words also.

Yes, it's a young acacia tree against the stratus clouds. Very poetic.
I was taken aback when I saw the picture. Acacia is biblical - mentioned in Exodus as the wood used to make the tabernacle.
It is also a Middle Eastern belief that the sprig is a symbol of immortality, That is why I thought of my own mother's immortal soul has probably reached heaven

That is why I am amazed by
people who can do so effortlessly.
