Low Pressure Rain Continues for Hours

The rain began yesterday evening. I thought I would take an evening walk. I was out just ten steps from my door, the rain started. I had to turn back.
Today, the morning exercise session had to be abandoned. And now at noon ( 12:20) it is still raining. It appears like it will continue for hours to come. Daylight is dimmed by grey cover over the sky
I don't know if other places get rain due to atmospheric low pressure. A low pressure formation over the Bay of Bengal causes such incessant rain which can go on and on for about 70 hours.
