Packed or school lunches?

In another myLotter's post I have been discussing the difference between packed lunches and school lunches. My kiddos prefer me to make their lunches every day for school, which ninety percent of the time, I do.
Now I'm not posting this to bash people who prefer to have their kids eat school lunches or bashing people who pack school lunches, so remember that before you read on.
We have a 7th grader (he child) and a 3rd grader (she child). They go to different schools, and so their lunch menus are different. Last year and in years prior, the school would send menu's home, but I have yet to see any this year. That doesn't mean they dont provide them anymore, it just means that our kids probably aren't worried about bringing them home because they are a little spoiled and I make sure they have packed lunches.
Most of the time, I pack two totally different meals for each kid. He child is allowed to have sodas in his lunches, so he gets one of those mini Cokes,Dr Peppers or Sprite in his lunch. He usually requests peanut butter and jelly, or nutella sandwiches or nachos. Which is really just tortilla chips, queso and salsa in a divided tupperware. He gets a good variety, and he likes it way more when I make his lunches instead of eating school lunches. He's gotten sick from the cafeteria a couple times, so I make lunches for him.
She child is less picky, but she still gets generally exactly what I know she wille at, and what she likes. She gets chicken nuggets, pb and j, homemade lunchables, and all kinds of other things. She's getting to where she will help me make lunches, and her favorite part is to pick out snack. She eats lunch at about 1030 at school, so make sure she's got a semi big snack for school.
The big pluses to me making their lunches just about every day are that I KNOW what they are eating. I know how much food they are getting and exactly what is in their lunches. I know that everyday they get what they will actually eat, and they won't be hungry all day at school.
I never got packed lunches growing up, unless I packed them myself, so I love making their lunches. It's one of my love languages "serving others" or whatever you would call it.
So do you pack lunches? Do your kids get school lunches? Do they prefer one or the other?
PS. I don't need anymore private messages that say my kids are not gonna know how to handle dealing with food they don't like because they get lunches made for them every day. They are kids, I'm mom they are going to get packed lunches for as long as they want them. Don't like it, dont read this. I don't care.

I cook and pack Lunch for my husband, daughters and myself. These days we have been working and studying from home, so we get to eat our hot meals together. Sometimes, my husband and children want to eat from cafeteria and that is okay.
