Even though the national news media gets some heat for their biased coverage of the news on the national and international level, one local New Orleans television did their part to shed light on the rebuilding efforts in Lafitte Louisiana where a five year old boy named Pennington Hebert lost of all of his toys due to Hurricane Ida that struck the region last month.
Thanks to the report from New Orleans television station WDSU, the community in Lafitte were able to respond to the plea of the Hebert family that is trying to rebuild their home by shoveling mud away from their home last week by making donations of toys, gift cards and a refrigerator to assist them in rebuilding their home.
Officials in Jefferson Parish have set a resource center for all of the residents who have affected by the storm can get their needs met.
What I like about the attitude of Pennington is that he plans to share his toys that were given to him by strangers in his community to other needy children.
This generation of children impress me with their giving spirit to others in need after a natural disaster hit their region.

That is true that children today who have been going through tough times are assisting others who need help these days.
