“Pity that consequences are determined not by excuses but by actions!” ? George Eliot, Adam Bede I know many people who use excuses as a way of escaping consequences. This is a great quote found in one of my favorite books. It was written by George Eliot who's real name was Mary Ann Cross in 1858. Picture is Pixabay

I have not read any books from George Eliot. I know of the name from a parody of the author from a deceased Mexican comic on his satire of historical figures.

@misunderstood_zombie His real name was Roberto Gomez Bolanos who used the stage name "Chespirito" due to his short size.

@Deepizzaguy I don't think I have ever heard of him, but he must of been funny for you to remember him so well.

I do not know these or the authors. I know I do not make excuses and have to get going to survive.

It's true that excuses don't really work as adults. Sorry, I meant more for when we were kids.

How I hate people who don’t own up to their mistakes.

I know. Especially at work when they don't want to pull their share of the work.
