What Do YOU Think of Lawrence Welk (Classic Band-Leader)

I recorded OETA's recent re-broadcast of the very-first broadcast (at least on ABC) of The Lawrence Welk Show. It made me wonder, 'What's so special about Lawrence Welk?' Well--call it 'the action of a privileged modernist'--I just opened a search-engine and typed, 'What's so special about Lawrence Welk?' and--among other, more-scandalous things--it sent me to this report. https://www.thefamouspeople.com/profiles/lawrence-welk-3296.php The way I read it, he's just like most other musicians who went out into the world, worked hard, and succeeded ... except he broadcasted it fairly-early in television-history (the recording I'm watching is in black-&-white). Was there anything (about him or his show) that caught your attention? For me, it's his 'adoption' of all his band-members into The Musical Family.

Did you know that Neil Levang (Coral LevangĀ“s father) played there? @TheSojourner told me that he was her father when we were in Aruba

@mythociate You are too young . In my generation this song was famous, just as this other one: Ghost Riiders in the sky

@db20747 And didn't Desi's band also do STAR TREK (it WAS "a DesiLu production!")
