Fall weather curve ball

Like typical weather not wanting to make up its mind about if it wasn’t to be ball or summer. The last today’s have been surprise in the 80’s. Causing for us to turn the AC back one which isn’t working it’s best. The fan will stop spinning so Jojo have to kick start it when you switch the ac on or go check it every few hours. Here it is 1:30am and it’s 69 degrees outside and it’s like 76 degrees in the house. I go really hot and had to go out to the back yard and kick start the AC thankfully when I switched it over it try to turn on right away and I didn’t need to wait 10-15 minutes for it to want to started.
Now laying in bed the AC on, ceiling can’t on and standing fan on high. Going to try to fall back a sleep before I have to be up at 6:35am once the kids are at school if I’m still really tired I can take a short nap.

Indian summer happens ince in a while . the weather has been crazy though

I don’t what an Indian summer is its not a term used around here. Weather is always unpredictable so no big surprises or wants to change up all of a sudden this and not it’s bad to cold

Oh my that is extremely hot. Its unfortunate when it is too hot its very hard to sleep.

That isn’t extremely how 80’s is like the start fo summer weather heat temp. 100 is extreme temp which where I lives does get but not in the fall months.

The AC doesn’t work that good it’s actually dying and we to open it up and kick start it.

We still need air conditioning here, too. It feels strange to need air conditioning this late in the year. Of course, some of that is due to the design of the building; it heats up fairly quickly in here-- good in winter but not so great the rest of the year.

@ShyBear88 Are there any weatherization programs in your area that could help?
There is a federal tax credit, but it is pretty paltry. The current one only covers 10% of the cost up to $500, doesn't cover the cost of installing it, etc. Plus, there is the entire having the money to do the project in the first place.

@wilsongoddard we have weather stations and weather apps but again it’s not a 100% they can predict several weeks out to days. They have a better idea when it is a few hours from happening.

Here it’s because we have terriabke installation that my husband grandparents put in years ago before we moved in. Also we have a basement that just has a concrete floor. Also it doesn’t help that the AC is older then my oldest child.
