I had to start this discussion to let you know how proud I am of myself... I have just baked my first boiled fruit pudding and a christmas fruit cake. It was a 100yr old recipe from an old lady I know. Only the tasting will tell if it is good though... How many of you bake for christmas????

I tend to bake mostly sweet things which isn't such a good thing either...

Thanks. Very proud of myself! Especially baking 'from scratch'. I usually use packets for most baking. Hope they taste alright though.

Ginger house - Ginger house
Congrads Missy, I like eating fruit cake & fruit pudding, I saw an instant packet mix at woolworth other day, even after reading the "easy step instructions" sounded to difficult. I make the sweets at Xmas time like Rocky road, I tried chocalate fudge, even tho it tasted yummmy.. it melted after being out of the fridge too long...:( Have the ingredance together for White Xmas... Only other things I do at Xmas time is make my Tia Maria.... Only chance I get to indulge in some Xmas drinking. Open to any ideas of other EASY Xmas cooking ideas... Mother in Law has invited "The Family" to our place Xmas day... Even tho everyone will bring a plate, I still would like to have some treats avail.

Don't know about easy christmas baking. The boiled pudding was a lot easier than I thought it would be though. I'll give you the recipe if you message me! I'm sure you could do it and impress all the in-laws....
