Last night during the Ravens-Colts game, breaking news came in that Jon Gruden resigned as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.
What started out as an investigation on Washington, ended up outting Jon Gruden as well.
Emails came to light that Gruden had sent using racist terminology as well as sexist and anti-gay comments.
Not just one email like we had thought in the beginning and Gruden had addressed.
There seems to be scores of emails between 2010-2018.
Owner of the Raiders flew out to have a talk with Gruden last night and shortly after came Gruden's resignation.
Opinions about the course of action has been mixed to say the least. I was reading comments last night on varying posts and it was interesting reading.
The emails that were found were leaked to a newspaper. If that hadn't happened I'm not entirely sure if the NFL would have done anything.
The NFL seems to like to sweep things under the rug. If the public doesn't know it's okay.
On the other hand if Gruden is being investigated then I think all coaches and players should be as well.
I'll also say that there are players that shouldn't be playing anymore as well.
I would call it a double standard but I don't think it is. I believe it's more, what you don't know won't hurt you, standard.
Opinions?
Just keep it civil please. I saw enough of people attacking other people's opinions last night and it still rages this morning.

I think it’s stupid. Some of these e-mails are eleven years old, so why weren’t they brought up in 2010 instead of now???
But then, I don’t watch nor care for football, so I don’t have a dog in the fight.
(Unless someone’s going to consider that an insult to animals….

I firmly believe that the NFL wouldn't have said or done anything if it hadn't been made public. I also believe that if they're going to go through those emails then every coaches on every team should have their emails gone though.
I also believe that there are certain players that shouldn't be playing by the NFL's own rules.
It's a huge...standard they set. I wanted to say double standard but it's more than just two sides.

That's pretty surprising, but somebody in that position should know better.

Everyone knew. At least I think so. It's like most of the NFL dealings. If the public doesn't know they can get away with doing nothing.
