I’ll Never Forget

I’ll never forget this day in 2014, not the date so much, but the events that led up to this day, a few weeks prior my cousin F was severely burned on both hands while working on a car, he ended up having to be rushed to the hospital and spent some time in the hospital. He had on,y recently been released and you could see he was in pain, but this fundraiser was for him, a people, a community, and of course family coming together, because he needed us, and we needed him. He’s actually about a year and a half younger than I am but still growing up he wads my protector, and we’d get into our share of trouble together, when I was ten I was fearless when I was with him, skateboarding down the top of the hill, not a problem, hiding out in the empty house next door, playing hide n seek we did that too, but if anyone picked on me when he was around, they’d learn there lesson fast, he believed in family. I have a younger brother and he protected him too of course.
But when I heard that he’d been hurt, that he’d possibly not regain the use of his hands (they were wrong) I felt absolutely helpless, and all I could do was say I’d pray for him and of course I did.
I think in a way that whole event was a catalyst for pulling our family together once again, for bringing us closer, a hard event that nearly broke us and saved us.
This happened over 7 years ago, and yet in many ways it feels like yesterday, and at other times sit seems like a distant memory, and now my cousin is doing amazing, because he’s awesome like that.

We went through a similar incident, my two year old grandson fell hands first in a fire pit. He had special treatments each week, but it was the Lord who healed him! We serve an awesome God, Michelle

Yes we do! He was older when this happened! He’s doing well, but that was scary, I felt entirely helpless!

Me too! I don’t see him as often as I’d like, but it’s a blessing when I do…

You did do something when that happened to your cousin. You prayed and prayers can be answered. That was so nice what the community did for him. I am so glad he is doing amazing 7 years after it happened. Yes, there are things that come to us and they could have happened the other day instead of a long time ago.
