The New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) answered a call this morning from a concerned citizen who was inside of a three story duplex that was on fire.
The firefighters were able to rescue a 20 year old man who was trapped in the roof as the flames started to reach the top floor of the duplex by the use of their firefighting equipment to get him out of harms way.
After the firefighters treated the 20 year old man for smoke inhalation, he was taken by an ambulance to a local hospital to be examined for any injuries that happened in the fire.
Even though no one was seriously injured in the fire, one firefighter was treated for chest pains but hopefully the firefighter will make a quick recovery.
The good news is that the fire did not spread to other buildings in the neighborhood.

That is true since most deaths in fire is from smoke inhalation.

That's good for the fire is under control and no injuries reported and the man was rescued.
