I am a stick in the mud or Whistler's mudder

So Naomi and I walked to the lake. She wanted to collect some bugs for her biology class. We get to the far side of the lake where the creek flows in, and the water is really low. There's like a large mud flat. Naomi sees a dog toy in the mud and decides to rescue it. And I shout "don't sink in" as she tries to hook it with the handle of her net. Well I she can't quite get the bottom to come out of the muck, and when she gives it another try, her foot sinks into the mud. She tries to pull her foot out and it won't come. So I walk down there and give her a hand. Pull, her foot comes out, and mine sinks in. Sigh. Pull my foot and it comes out and the other one sinks in. I'm really mad at this point. Why did you have to rescue that toy, grumble grumble. Try to pull the foot out and the other ones sinks in too. At this point, a jogger stops and asks if we're ok. Ok, but got stuck pulling ---> her out. Oh, well as long as you're ok. And she continues to jog. Eye roll. So I pull my feet out of my shoes, walk to the side and tell Naomi to rescue the shoes. Text Tony, please come to the lake. He comes fast thinking some guys are hassling us or something. Gets there just as Naomi digs out the second shoe. Mud everywhere. What does he want to know? Why didn't we take pictures? Hahaha laughed all the way home. Left Naomi hosing off shoes and went out. No pictures.
