Which Should I Purchase?

On my Amish country trip, for myself, should I purchase thermals, turtlenecks or sweatshirts? As I already have my jacket and gym shoes from Poshmark.com, I need to purchase for underneath.
I guess be on the lookout for all of the above. Which do you think would be warmer?

Where will you be visiting? And when? How cold will it be where you are going? You could layer up. Thermal shirt, long sleeve shirt, jacket, coat. Thermal bottoms and jeans/slacks. Warm socks will be good.
