When it rains...

I wrote about the family gathering yesterday at my uncle's house. My cousin Adrian brought his mom, my Aunt Deannie who is sister to my uncle to see the cousins from Virginia.
Deannie also has Alzheimers, but her daughter lives with her so she doesn't have to live in a nursing home.
Adrian called us the morning saying his sister Cathy found Deannie in the bathroom and had fallen. She got her in bed, but Deannie was unresponsive when we got there. She didn't have any obvious injuries, but we knew something was very wrong.
Cathy checked on her about 2am, so she fell between 2 and 8am.
They called the rescue squad which took her to our small local hospital.
Just got word she has a brain bleed and they're air lifting her to a larger hospital. I guess she hit her head when she fell.
So sad. She looked so much like my mother just before my mother died of Alzheimers a few years ago.
Thank you to everyone for your prayers and concern.

@RebeccasFarm Just talked to my cousin, he said the docs don't know if the brain bleed was caused by the fall or the fall by the brain bleed. Still testing.

@1creekgirl This falling down business for old folk is not good. My father’s in a care home and he falls. He hasn’t damaged himself so far but they always send him to hospital to be checked out and that just adds anxiety into the mix. Hope things improve for Deannie.

It's even sadder because she doesn't know where she is or what's going on.
