So, my female cat likes to lie on my chest. That is not always the most comfortable thing, but she is also not a very heavy cat. Her younger brother weighs at least two pounds more than she does. Now, two pounds does not seem like a lot, but it's all about how you apply it. Since big sister can do something, shouldn't little brother as well? At least, that seems to be his current thought process. As I type this, I have 10+ pounds of cat parked on my chest. He is looking so contented that I haven't the heart to make him move. Plus, he was nice enough to park his behind on my arm so that not all of his weight is directly on my chest. That's something, right?

well you just have to endure and don't move until they leave. At least he is being considerate.

He fell asleep on me, so I ended up taking a nap as well.

@wilsongoddard i feel you. I have two dogs both weighing over 5kg who’d sleep on top of me. When in bed they’d sometimes still play and jump on me.

@toniganzon I've ended up with cat wrestling matches on me. At least, so far, they've been kind enough to mostly keep that to my feet and legs.

I don't know much about cats because I don't have one, but looking at how your cats treat you, they seem to appreciate you so much as their owner with such affection.

I am fortunate to be owned by such generous felines.

KitKat is a lap sitter, Luna likes to sit next to my legs, and Jason comes up next to my head if I'm lying down. I had two cats that were shoulder sitters, but no chest sitters.

They each stake out their territory. Some of the boy's move into sleeping on me like that was some serious kitty politics. I'm lying down as I'm typing, and the little girl has come to park herself on my chest just now. She knows that she and her brother are being talked about.

Cat logic at it's finest. Both Mama and Chilly apparently had the same idea. Last night Chilly wanted to be a lap cat, and so did Mama. I couldn't let them both on me, (both are big cats) and I wasn't about to have them trying to chase the other away. I don't need ten plus pounds of cat have a paw fight on my body.

After he and I ended up napping curled up like that, he earned himself a nip from his big sister for stealing her spot. He was just like, "And I'll do it again."

One of mine sits all over me, but the Dude not so much thankfully. He weighs twice as much as Brendel.

The Dude is too cool for all of that. He knows that you're his without having to make too much fuss, human. At least, he did shift a bit of his weight off onto my arm. I think that he realized that I wouldn't allow him to stay if he was crushing my ribs too much. The fact that he realized that without me having to nudge him about it tells me that he is smarter than he sometimes lets on. When we first adopted him, there was some question as to just how bright he is. Oh, I'd say that he's proving himself to be quite clever. Rambunctious, but clever.

@wilsongoddard You are right about the Dude. He is confident. My two are on my lap at night while watching tv. I do not move for like two hours.

@RebeccasFarm Working on it. Or, rather, working on the husband so that he works on it.

Love... and a chance to irritate his sister. She considers that to be her territory. After his nap on me, he seems a bit too smug about it; so, she did what any big sister would do in that situation. She nipped his foot.
