TIME versus TRUST

I was talking to a friend this morning and she was just having a hard time with her relationship saying that her partner barely have time for her because of work. She just complains about them not going or doing anything together anymore. Another friend, in the same video call, tells about her suspicion that her partner might be having an affair, and that her trust is little by little dwindling. All because of a text message she accidentally opened when she was using her partner's mobile phone. She chose to ignore the text message, and didn't say a word to her partner afraid it might cause some friction between them. But she openly admits it us, her friends about it and asks for some advice. I was faced with a question on what matters in a relationship to last: giving time or having trust. What do you think matters? TIME or TRUST.

I think both of them are equally important in people's lives.

@Yadah04 For me, trust is most important in this particular situation.

I think so too. But when asked to choose just one, which do you think matter most?

Every time i see questions related to trust, my grandfather’s voice would ring in my head saying this: trust is the basic foundation of every relationship. When we trust somebody we love, we’d understand each other’s needs and faults. We may feel disappointed but we’d always understand. Without trust, a relationship couldn’t work anymore.

Ah, words of wisdom from the oldies. I always want to listen to them. And I agree with what you said, without trust a relationship is bound to fail.

both. but for time, i think no matter how busy one is, he or she will find time to be with his or her loved ones.

that is what I said to my friend too, and then acting as the devil's advocate, I told her that the LOVE he have for her may not be that enough to give her time. lol

Both ofc, giving time but also having trust. But most important; communications. In your friend's case, she looks like losing both time and trust because lack of communications.
