To honor her beloved ones.
She placed a picture of my late husband in the center (she sent me the picture and he looked so lovely!) and nearby his favorite food.
She snrt me her blessings according to the originary people here.
We are all mixed in this part of the planet and I´m proud of it. Although most of my ancestors come from Europe, I´m sure that my chidren have more American blood from their father´s side. I never checked any genealogy, but I could see it in his trait, traits that my eldest daughter and my eldest grandson inherited.
I even think that my daughters have a drop or 2 of black blood, judging from a part of Claudia´s difficult to comb her hair.
These customs are nearer to my heart than Halloween, a holiday that was imported from the north a few years ago. Up to then, we did not even have any pumpkins here. Now we import them to carve them
. Pumpkins are not ready in spring as we are now and we have different gourds when the time comes.
But now El día de los muertos is here. I´ll place a virtual flower in this post for all my beloved ones, departed but not away from my memories.

People used to go with flowers to the cemetery on AllSaint´s Day. Now they go less.
