So tired...

From waking up way too early, then tromping to the bus, getting off the bus and tromping most of the way to the in-home-daycare (I was early, so I didn't want to get there early again as last time I was early I couldn't tell if the director was happy or not).
Thankfully I remembered to bring a book with me, so I sat on the corner of the daycare home's street and read for a bit. While I sat there reading, a little girl and her father came along, and I thought I recognized the little girl, and sure enough she said, "Miss Stacey!" when she got close enough. She was one of the preschoolers who went to the daycare.
By that time enough time had passed, so I followed them to the daycare home.
Today was a challenge to say the least. One of the littler ones, the girl in a set of boy/girl fraternal twins, threw a tantrum. I was told that she did that all the time. A little later though she continued crying and screaming, and the director took a good look at her and wondered (I forget her exact words) aloud if the little one had an ear infection.
While lunch was being had there was a lot of dawdling and goofing off, and the director seemed to be ready to pull her hair out.
When it was naptime the little gal with the possible ear infection was put into the part of the house where the toddlers usually are (where she normally goes with her twin brother), but the poor thing continued to cry and scream. One of the toddlers had been put in the room with the preschoolers, and I was sitting right next to him. He kept sitting up and saying "Uh-oh, uh-oh." I guess 'cause he knew something wasn't right.
At one point the director said to me, "Are you sure you want to work here all week?" It's been a while, but I've worked in daycares/preschools since I was 17, and I've seen a lot.
Besides, I could certainly use the money. The director asked if it was okay if she paid me Friday, since I'd be there four days, and I said that was fine (usually I'm not there four days straight and she pays me before I leave).
I doubt that the twins will be there tomorrow, but I guess I'll see.
When I left today I was tired, and the bus of course seemed to take longer to get there than it should have.
After all of that and an early morning besides, I will sleep well tonight.

Yes, I'll bet all the kids were glad to go home, and the director was glad when they all did !

Is that little girl able to say what was her problem, or did the director just guess it was an earache?

She's barely two, so I don't believe she could say what her problem was, no.

I hope you get a good, solid sleep. You look and sound as if you could use one.
