So the Indian cricket is undergoing some significant changes. First, Virat Kohli announced that he would no longer be the T 20 (The shortest cricket format) captain.
Next, after the expiry of Ravi Shastri's stint with India as the head coach, it would be another star player and ex captain Rahul Dravid who would be the new head coach.
Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli combine led India to some great wins in all formats although in between there were failures like losing the World Test Championship (WTC) final to New Zealand and also losing the semi finals in the ODI World Cup in 2019 (surprisingly against the same Kiw team).
Rahul Dravid was one of the finest batsman of the Indian team and played from 1996 to 2012.
His two year term begins with a home series against the Kiwis, followed by a tour to South Africa.

@Manasha
Yes plus his experience in coaching and mentoring the under 19 team would also stand handy.
