A friend sent me a picture of his betting slip. He was bored waiting for one of his friends to finish work, so he had a £1 bet on a horse abroad. The horse didn’t win, but his picture amused me. This is what gambling addiction does to some people. It fills a void - stops boredom for a small period of time. This is shown in the fact he drew an image of the horse on the betting slip. Perhaps he drew it whilst contemplating if he really should place the bet or not. Maybe drawing the image could have persuaded him not to bother placing the bet. Maybe she should have kept drawing to pass the time. Can you draw a better horse? I couldn’t!
