Running in the Rain

United Kingdom
November 7, 2021 7:59am CST
I went for a run in the rain last night, I love running in the rain but yesterday it was a bit much even for my liking. Plus is was pitch black. I was getting into running quite a lot over the summer but then I got really ill for the first three weeks of October and am only just recovering (although I think I am coming down with something again now). I really want to run a 10km in February, I think I can do it. My only goal is to complete it without Stopping, I can run 5-6km without stopping now so I have enough time to improve, I just need to stop getting sick! And yes I know running in the rain probably doesn't help the sniffles but it great for my mental health!

I'm not a runner. Not even when the sun is shining.

Oh I hate running when the sun is out, I have never understood people running in the blazing sun, when I do run in the summer leave it as late in the evening as possible so it's a bit less intense!

You can build up to anything, I still have a long way to go but when I started I couldn't run half a km at a time

You are amazing to run at all..I cant run to save my life. I really hope that you can stay well. How about hot tea with a bit of garlic swallowed down or some ginger even..lemon, honey, elderberry..all that can help the sniffles.

@nitirrbb7 I am listening to my body today and resting, and lots of stretching. I am really injury prone so I have to be careful!

I feel like that every time I leave the house, yesterday my calves were cramping as soon as I started, luckily they calmed down after a while!
