Grief Counseling Update.

So, I emailed a counseling center up the street to see if they have an opening for grief counseling under my insurance. They emailed me back and told me they didn’t have any openings at this time, but they did offer resources for finding a grief counselor that takes my insurance.
It’s the same website I found several others over the last 2-3 months. You can email the counselors through that website (it’s basically a directory). I emailed a few back in September. Some of them responded that they do charge a copayment, and others didn’t respond at all. I’ll have to go into my email to see who I already emailed (as the website has an automated response thing to let you know the email was sent, so I can gather the names that way) and continue with my hunt. I could reach out to the counselors who never emailed me back, but the fact that they never even had a receptionist email me back doesn’t really sit with me, so I’ll move on and possibly revisit that list later.
Anyway, I’m thinking of waiting until after the holidays to continue with my hunt. Take a little break and focus on my family, friends, work, etc. With being able to let go of my anger toward two of the hospitals, I’m not in a huge rush, but grief counseling is something I want to do in the future.
In the meantime, I do have a support system of family and friends, and I also started a journal to help share my thoughts and feelings. But that’s my update. I need to get back to this writing order.

I wouldn't try those who never got back to you the first time.. sorry they didn't. So unprofessional. I understand waiting til after the holidays. But knowing how I would be if I was in your shoes, I think reaching out to someone before them may be better.. as you mentioned your mom was the first person you saw on the holidays, and everything..

True, but between trying to get back on track with work and the holidays itself, I may not have the time. But I'll see if I have time on any upcoming weekends. Luckily, I live in a full house with my family. As for those who never responded, contacting them again is the last resort. I'm moving on to other names on the list. Thank you so much.

@Courtlynn Thank you so much. I'm doing what I can. I have a support system, in a few support groups on social media and I started a "grief journey" blog, so I'm taking the steps to cope.
